Meriton Rexhepi has run an exterior cleaning business in Northern Germany since 2018. His company, REX NORD, cleans and seals paved driveways and patios, cleans and coats roofs, and cleans gutters and facades for homeowners and property managers around Hamburg.
That means he spends his working days on the jobs this site writes about: how long a gutter clean really takes, what makes a pressure-washing job go wrong, when a roof coating is worth it and when it is a sales pitch, and how contractors build a quote for exterior work.
What Meriton does on this site
Meriton reviews pages in the Gutters and Exterior Cleaning sections before they are published. He checks the work descriptions, the time estimates and the list of things that drive a price up or down against what he sees on real jobs. Where a page has been reviewed by him, his name appears at the top of the page.
He does not set US prices. Labor rates, materials and permits differ between Germany and the United States, and our US price ranges come from published US sources, listed on each page. What travels across the border is the craft: how the work is done, how long it takes and what a fair quote includes.
Why a German contractor on a US site
Because the questions are the same. A homeowner in Ohio asking whether $250 for a gutter clean is fair is asking the same thing as a homeowner near Hamburg asking whether 200 euros is fair, and the answer depends on the same things: house size, roof pitch, how clogged the gutters are, whether downspouts are flushed, and whether the job includes a bag of debris hauled away or a pile left on the lawn. Meriton knows those things from doing them, and we would rather have a page reviewed by someone who does the work than by nobody.
