Editorial Policy
The rules every page on this site has to meet before it goes live.
1. Every price has a source and a date
A price range appears on this site only if we can name where it comes from and when it was published. Sources are listed at the bottom of each page. National figures are labeled as national figures. We do not present a number as current if the source is older than 18 months without saying so.
2. We show disagreement instead of hiding it
Cost databases often disagree. When Angi says $150 to $450 for a job and HomeGuide says $200 to $1,000, we tell you both and explain what might account for the gap. We do not average sources into a single number that looks more precise than the data allows.
3. Assumptions are labeled
Where we add our own judgment, for example a regional labor factor in a calculator or a low end for a figure a source only gives as "up to", the page says it is our assumption and explains the reasoning.
4. No contractor influence
We do not accept payment, free services or products from contractors, manufacturers or lead marketplaces. No company is recommended. The site is funded by display ads served by a third-party network that has no say in the content.
5. Every page answers a real question
Pages are written for the question in the title. They open with the direct answer, then the detail. We do not pad pages to hit a word count, and we do not publish pages that exist only to rank for a keyword.
6. Each page adds something you cannot get elsewhere
A page goes live only if it contains at least one of: a calculator or tool, a table we built from several sources, an explanation from a reviewer who does the work, or a documented comparison of sources. Restating other sites is not enough.
7. Software is a tool, people decide
We use software, including AI, for research, source comparison and drafting. Every page is read in full by a person, every figure is checked against its source by a person, and a person decides whether it is published. See the editorial team page for the process.
8. Reviewers are named and their limits stated
Where a page is reviewed by someone who does the work, their name and background appear on the page and their profile explains what they checked and what they did not. Nobody on this site is presented as a licensed US tradesperson.
9. Dates mean something
"Updated" changes only when figures or content were actually re-verified. We do not bump dates to look current.
10. Corrections are made and noted
Errors are corrected when shown to us, and substantive corrections are noted on the page. Email info@svgmarketing.de.
