Hosting
This site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). When you load a page, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser information and the requested URL in server logs for security and delivery. Legal basis under GDPR: Art. 6 (1) (f), our legitimate interest in operating a secure, fast website. Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Google may process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
For visitors in the European Union, the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs in consent mode with storage denied: no analytics cookies are set and no identifiers are stored on your device. Google receives only cookieless, aggregated signals. For visitors elsewhere, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that expire after up to two years. Legal basis where GDPR applies: Art. 6 (1) (f), our legitimate interest in aggregated usage statistics, without cookies. You can block analytics entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking scripts from googletagmanager.com.
Advertising
We plan to show display ads served by a third-party network. When ads are live, the network may set cookies and process your IP address and browsing data to select ads, and this section will name the network and link its privacy policy and opt-out options. Personalized advertising is shown only with your consent where the law requires it. Until then, no advertising cookies are set.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. Analytics and, later, advertising may set cookies as described above. Your browser lets you view, block and delete cookies.
Calculators
Values you enter into calculators and decoders are processed in your browser only. They are not sent to our servers or stored.
If you email us, we process your address and message to answer you. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and for any legal retention period.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for us: Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein). Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
